Brief deScription of your daily responsibilities: I provide care for premature infants and term newborns with infections, birth defects, breathing difficulties, growth restriction, and maternal health problems.

Your career goals: At this point in life, my career goal is to continue learning and developing within my profession. As a fairly new graduate in the medical field, I understand that I have quite a bit left to learn.

Hobbies: reading, dancing, watching movies, going to concerts, scrap-booking, being with friends and family

Favorite childhood memory: My favorite childhood memories are those from my dance classes and dance recitals. Whether I was learning a routine or performing it, I remember always having so much fun.

Something interesting about you or your family others may not know: I have a cousin whose likeness was used for Tarzan in the 1999 Disney animated movie.

Five things you would like to accomplish in this lifetime:

(1) Cheer in the Superbowl

(2) Learn to speak fluent Spanish

(3) Travel around the world

(4) Learn to surf

(5) Get married and have a family.

One word to describe yourself: sensitive

What is the first thing you would do after winning the lottery?  Buy my dad a new Shelby Mustang. He is the kind of person who always puts the wants and needs of others ahead of his own. For years he’s dreamed of owning a Mustang, so it would be exciting to finally make one of his dreams come true.

Interesting places you have visited: Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. I was there as part of a medical mission team. The residents of the area were extremely underprivileged yet they had such a positive outlook on life. It was truly rewarding to provide free medical care for people who otherwise had no access to such services.

What is in your CD player right now?  The Killers- Sam’s Town

Something you feel very strongly about: I feel very strongly that we should give of ourselves to help meet the needs of others. The world would be a better place if we all practiced this philosophy.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?  I always remember wanting to become a nurse. I was fascinated by anyone in the medical field at a very young age, and I’ve always had the desire to help others.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?  I have always wanted a Sugar Glider.

As a role model, what do you hope children will learn from you?  As a role model I hope that I can inspire a positive attitude in the children with whom I come in contact. My goal is to impress upon children that with hard work, perseverance and a belief in oneself, it is possible to achieve great things.
